In 2023, the AFF made $80,000 in Ambassador grants and provided over $149,500 in local grants and donations.

Ambassador & Director Grants

Minds Matter (Erica Mansfield)- $7,500 to support their Math & Test Program in NYC.

Fiesta Youth (Director Sophie Laing)- $10,000 to support a new robotics program at San Antonio’s only LGBTQ+ youth support group.

Overbrook School for the Blind (Nick Fiorellini)- $7,500 to improve the accessibility, adaptability, and functionality of its playground for blind and visually impaired children in the Philadelphia metro area.

Women’s Money Matters (Kyla Gabriel)- $7,500 to expand financial wellness programs for women and girls in Essex County, Massachusetts.

Sportsmen’s (Alex Parks)- $5,000 for their after-school cooking and culture program, School to Sportsmen’s.

Jane Addams Resource Corp. (Isaac Reichman)- $7,500 to make their adult tutoring programs more accessible.

Hospitality Homes (Damon Allen)- $7,500 to assist in recruiting hosts for patients who have traveled to seek medical care in the Boston area.

Family Services (Director Jen Melitski)- $10,000 to acquire and update Telehealth technology used for behavioral health programs.

Children’s Reading Connection (Andy Ricci)- $7,500 for a community-literacy initiative in Ithaca, New York.

Red Hook Responds (Director Nick Ascienzo)- $10,000 to meet increased need for its food preparation and service programs.

Sunflower Bakery (Legacy Grant)- $7,500 to expand Employment Training Programs for young adults with learning differences.

Local Giving

Boys & Girls Club of Kingston- $7,500 to support teen programming.

Red Hook Community Center- $7,500 for the Community Center’s Crisis Intervention for Basic Needs program.

BackPack Program- $5,000 to support the Northeast Regional Foodbank.

Dutchess Outreach- $7,500 to meet increased needs for the Food Pantry and Community Meal Program.

Culture Connect- $7,500 for College Connect program to support first generation college students applying for college and in the transition to college.

Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse- $7,500 to support their Personal Safety Program providing free sexual and physical abuse prevention lessons in schools.

For the Many- $7,500 for outreach to increase access to the Excluded Workers Fund.

Four Corners Farm- $7,500 to expand food donation services and programming, and a teen internship and apprenticeship programs.

Garden Classroom- $3,500 for educational programming supplies and materials.

InFlight- $7,500 to assist in addressing barriers to employment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Joy of Learning- $7,500 to improve school readiness and educational outcomes for low-income preschool children in Ulster County.

Kite’s Nest- $7,500 to support restorative practices and therapeutic crisis intervention for youth in the Hudson community.

Long Table- $7,500 for their Dutchess County gleaning program which distributes food to food pantries and community organizations in the Hudson Valley.

NYS Council Leadership & Student Activities- $3,000 to support students attending the state conference on Leadership.

Poughkeepsie Farm Project- $7,500 for its Food Share Program, which works to enable all residents in Poughkeepsie and Dutchess County have access to a safe and nutritious diet.

Ramapo- $7,500 to support Camp Rising Sun scholarships for local families in Dutchess and Ulster counties.

Reizod Foundation- $3,000 for new backpacks and shoes for school children in need in the Red Hook community.

Red Hook Public Library- $7,500 for a “Naturalist-in-Residence” to address environmental sustainability and nature-based programming.

Sky High Farm- $7,500 to assist in purchasing a refrigerated van to enable better distribution of food to community partners.

Ulster Immigrant Defense Network- $7,500 for the Food and Household Support Program, working to alleviate food insecurity for immigrant families in Ulster County.

United Methodist Church Food Pantry- $7,500 to support increased food needs in the community.

Wild Earth- $7,500 to support the Nature Connection & Experiential Education program that provides guided recess and afterschool programs for elementary and middle school students, and internships for Kingston High School students.
