The structure of our foundation is unique... In addition to our local giving efforts, we work with groups of "Ambassadors" who are all Red Hook High School graduates. These individuals now reside and work across the country (and world!) and have been invited to partner with the Ascienzo Family Foundation to explore the process of civic engagement and giving back in their new home communities.
Through this process, Ambassadors establish a variety of unique relationships with local organizations in their communities who are providing programs and services that align with the Foundation's mission. Each fall season, our Ambassadors apply for grants on behalf of the community partners (local nonprofit organizations) with which they are involved through their advocacy, volunteerism, and various pathways of service.
Thanks, as always, to our network of ambassadors, as well as local advocacy here in Red Hook, this past year the Ascienzo Family Foundation has given over $160,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations across the country. Brief descriptions of these 25+ grants can be found here.
