Congratulations to our scholarship awardees from the Red Hook High School Class of 2025, Eve Hayes and Cristian Ixcoy-Ciriaco!
Eve Hayes, RHHS ‘25
Eve will be attending Fordham University this fall, to study English Literature and pursue a degree in Education. During high school, Eve helped coordinate a run/walk to raise awareness and funding for suicide prevention. She was also Senior Class President, and an advocate for those with special needs. Eve will no doubt bring this giving spirit to her community at Fordham.
Cristian Ixcoy-Ciriaco, RHHS ‘25
Cristian will be attending Marist University to major in biology and minor in neuroscience. His perseverance and vision are inspiring. Cristian moved from Guatemala to the US as a teenager, knowing no English, and has since flourished in Red Hook. He has tutored and mentored younger students and embraces new opportunities to help whenever possible.
Two of our past scholarship awardees, Ava Michaelides and Michelle Salas, will join us now as our newest Ambassadors! Ava is a rising senior at UConn, studying environmental engineering. Michelle is a rising junior at Johnson & Wales, studying political science. They are excited to step into this new advocacy role and participate in our next Ambassador grant cycle in the spring.
